2 Analog + 4 Digital iOS Oscilloscope

Oscium’s newest product, iMSO-204, transforms the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch into an ultra-portable, two-channel oscilloscope. iMSO-204 is the second generation of handheld engineering tools from Oscium. When iMSO-104 was originally released, it won several awards (including being recognized as one of the 100 most technologically significant products of the year). With iMSO-204, Oscium has improved both functionality and performance, making the iPad or iPhone a very compelling oscilloscope solution.

Improvements to the original scope include adding a second analog channel and increasing the sample rate by more than a factor of four to 50 MSPS. The horizontal scaling has also been expanded (200 ns/div – 10s/div) and the sample depth is now 1000 points.

Oscium is the first company to bring a capacitive touchscreen experience to oscilloscopes. Martin Rowe of EDN Network says, “[once] you try using your finger to zoom in on a waveform, you’ll never want to go back to knobs.” Oscium has paved the way for a truly intuitive experience and continues to make improvements to the platform. iMSO2 software improvements include the following enhancements:

  • bullet pointWaveforms can be paused and zoomed into
  • bullet pointWhile zooming the horizontal and vertical scales, immediate feedback is now provided
  • bullet pointWaveforms are sharper with more than four times the number of display points
